On 17th July we paddled to Brixham, pausing at the Mew Stones to play with the seals and at Berry Head because we were tired. That is strange because it was clear weather and a following wind and tide all the way.

Even so, most of us managed to slide out of our boats. Here are our smiles of relief at the end of the day

Saturday, July 2nd, 2005The club moved in on Mill Bay, just east of Dartmouth Harbour, on June 12, to clean up the man made junk washed up on shore. Here we are with our loot.

After our toils we had a barbecue lunch. Freshly caught mackerel was the star item on the menu but Tim made the dessert, using doubtfully ecological components:

Saturday, July 2nd, 2005This is the first post on the blog of the Canoe section of the Dartmouth Yacht Club in Devon UK.
First, we have to get into the water. Here’s how, but don’t try it on your own. You need to be given a strong outward push to avoid sliding down the concrete wall.

We do tip over in the water occasionally, the next picture shows an advanced technique used to bring to land a group of six men who have lost four kayaks. We are not usually so incompetent, but we do prepare for such events, in warm sunny weather.
